My boyfriend’s ultra-conservative father posted this on FB as his status, and while I wish I had some witty answer to it, alas I had none. So, I’m bringing it here hoping that someone here has an answer to it :)
“Question for the class: California’s Supreme Court claims that prop 8 serves only to classify same-sex marriage as inferior to opposite-sex marriage. Fair enough. Why then are laws banning polygamy not interpreted the same way and struck down?”

Well first of all, there’s no relationship between same-sex marriage and polygamy. They’re two entirely different scenarios…
